Covering the Post
2-3 zone, HP Coverage
As a general rule which can be mandatory, #5 always covers high post play.
Note: When ball is in post, rule is 'elbows and boxes' must be covered.A to F
#1 − Rule if pass goes to post – drop to cover elbow area
#2 − Maintains elbow position
#3 − Drops to cover box
#4 − Covers box area
#5 − Yells 'up' and plays F until he releases ball2-3 Zone, F-C Pass

#1 − Covers C
#2 − Hustles to elbow for high post defense
#3 − Assumes cheat position
#5 − Drops in front of box

#2 − Moves into circle covering diagonal
#3 − Covers ball in corner
#5 − Moves in front of box
#4 − Maintains position2-3 Zone, B-F Pass
#5 − Covers F in post
#4 − Moves in to box area
#3 − Covers box opposite
#1 − Moves opposite of post to protect elbow opposite
#2 − Can drop to level of ball or move to protect elbow area2-3 Zone, F-A Pass
F to A
#1 − Moves to point position covering A
#2 − Covers wing position at elbow
#3 − Moves up to cheat position
#5 − Moves across and straddles line
#4 − Straddles line2-3 Zone, F-E Pass

#4 − Moves across in front of box
#5 − Drops back for rebound position
#1 − Moves to box position
#2 − Moves to protect against diagonal2-3 zone, F-E Pass Alternate

#2 − Faces ball assumes 'box position'
#3 − Holds box opposite for rebounding
#4 − Covers D in corner
#5 − Slides to boxNote: It has occurred when #3 would move to cover 'near box' and #5 when to opposite box.
